The SUNKEN GARDENS of KENSINGTON PALACE in London (°1908) underwent their first refurbishment after 200 years, with several trees being cut down and most of the others being trimmed right back. New trees were planted and then hundreds of hooped frames were installed with the new growth being trained over the frames for the trees to form a natural tunnel around the gardens. All the photographs below clearly illustrate the following facts:
1. The frames were tied together with wire as opposed to being welded together to maintain a natural look.
2. There are hundreds of hoops made of 16mm round steel bar and they were mounted all around the gardens.
